Training follows the TESDA Training Regulations for Driving (Passenger Bus / Straight Truck) NC III (Automotive / Land Transport Sector). Graduates are prepared for national assessment toward the NC III certificate and for work as Professional Bus Driver or Truck Driver — transporting passengers and heavy goods over short and long distances in compliance with traffic rules, regulations, and local ordinances. Reservations undergo initial assessment by the Registrar when a new batch opens.

Minimum Qualifications & Documentary Requirements

Check these before the next batch opens so you know in advance whether you qualify. Jeepney and van drivers moving up, delivery drivers, and other professional-driving career shifters are all welcome.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 18 years old at the start of training (TESDA scholarship requirement)
  • Able to communicate orally and in writing
  • Physically and mentally fit to drive (a medical certificate is required)
  • Of good moral character
  • Able to perform basic mathematical computations
  • A valid Professional Driver's License is required for behind-the-wheel training and national assessment — the appropriate LTO restriction / DL codes will be advised by the Registrar during screening

Documentary Requirements

  • PSA Birth Certificate (photocopy; bring the original for verification)
  • Proof of educational attainment: Form 137/138, High School or SHS diploma, or ALS certificate
  • Two (2) passport-size ID photos, white background, with name tag
  • Barangay Clearance or Certificate of Residency
  • Police Clearance
  • Medical Certificate (fit for training) from a licensed physician
  • Professional Driver's License (photocopy; bring the original for verification)

The Registrar confirms the final checklist during assessment; additional documents may be requested for TESDA scholarship processing.

Course Outline & Syllabus

Structured per the official TESDA competency standards. Total nominal duration: 122 hours.

Module 1 — Basic Competencies (NC III Level)

  1. Lead workplace communication
  2. Lead small teams
  3. Develop and practice negotiation skills
  4. Solve problems related to work activities
  5. Use mathematical concepts and techniques
  6. Use relevant technologies

Module 2 — Common Competencies (Automotive / Land Transport)

  1. Apply appropriate sealant / adhesive
  2. Move and position vehicle
  3. Perform mensuration and calculation
  4. Read, interpret and apply specifications and manuals
  5. Use and apply lubricant / coolant
  6. Perform shop maintenance
  7. Perform job estimate
  8. Interpret / draw technical drawing

Module 3 — Core Competencies

  1. Perform minor vehicle maintenance and servicing

    Routine checks and minor repairs on the assigned passenger bus or straight truck per the manufacturer's manual and company procedures.

  2. Perform pre- and post-operation procedures

    Systematic inspection of the vehicle before and after every trip — engine, brakes, tires, lights, fluids, and documentation.

  3. Drive the passenger bus / straight truck

    Safe, productive behind-the-wheel operation of vehicles under LTO restriction codes 3 to 5 — transporting passengers and heavy goods over short and long distances, on the highway and in traffic.

  4. Obey and observe traffic rules and regulations

    National traffic laws, local ordinances, road signage, and defensive-driving discipline for professional drivers.

  5. Implement and coordinate accident and emergency procedures

    Responding to breakdowns, road incidents, and passenger emergencies — securing the scene, coordinating with authorities, and completing reports.
